Lab Hours

The Fall 2008 semester commences August 25 and concludes December 19, 2008.

Testing and Drop & Add Information

Testing is conducted only on main campus in the Testing Center (room D316), not at any satellite center. An appointment to take a test is not necessary, but you will need to allow adequate time for testing during the lab's hours of operation. Students are required to present picture identification (i.e., MCC student ID, a current driver's license or state ID card) before a test will be administered.

PLEASE NOTE: You may test out of certain CMIS courses you are enrolled in for Summer 2008 semester, however, testing out is strictly limited to the Drop & Add time period. However, due to the hours of operation of the CIS Lab for summer semester, testing out of a course cannot be done on Friday, June 6, so please plan accordingly.

Financial Aid and MIWorks does NOT pay for a course a student opts to test out of; therefore, if you choose to test out of a course, you must pay for it yourself.

Drop & Add for Fall 2008 semester commences Monday, August 25 and concludes on Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Late registration and Drop & Add is from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on Friday on main campus and in Greenville and Ionia during the hours listed here. Students who register or add a course late must meet with the instructor to get a course syllabus and assignments in order to be prepared to participate in the first class they attend.

Final Weeks of the Semester

Due to the high volume of testing in the final weeks of the semester, please plan ahead. The availability of a computer in the Testing Center (room D316) is on a first come/first served basis. There are 17 seats available for testing in the center and a wait list will be created if the need arises.

Important Reminders

Before using a computer in the lab, please read the CIS Lab Policies. Policies are posted at each pod. If you have any questions, please contact lab personnel.

Current MCC policy states that children under the age of 14 are NOT allowed in the CIS lab.

No food or drinks are permitted in the CIS lab.

Please turn off or set to vibrate all cell phones and pagers. All calls must be taken out of the lab to a private setting.

Headphones are no longer provided for student use effective January 2008. These may be purchased in the MCC Bookstore.

If you wish to print personal items, contact lab personnel. Consult the chart on display in the CIS lab for charges. Printers are monitored on a continuous basis.

A copy machine is available for student use in the MCC library and in the corridor of the Doser Building between rooms D303 and D305. Copies can be obtained for a nominal charge of 10 cents per page.
