Christmas came early for students who lack a computer to finish school work outside of school hours. Members of the Montcalm Community College (MCC) Electronics Club were searching for a way to give back to the community this fall. They decided the best way was to refurbish computers for homeless students.

Voters turned down a request to restore Montcalm Community College’s millage to its original rate during Tuesday’s school election. The .2708-mill Headlee override, which would have rolled back present and future millage reductions caused by the Headlee Amendment to maintain the college’s operating expenses, failed by four votes, 3,758 to 3,754.
