Region 15 Science Olympiad

Welcome to the Region 15 Science Olympiad Web site.

For more than 25 years, Science Olympiad has been bringing science to life for area middle and high school students. Science Olympiad’s ever-changing event offerings provide exposure to a variety of science fields, from biology to chemistry, physics, geology and more.

Region 15 Science Olympiad includes Ionia, Isabella, Gratiot, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo and Oceana counties. The events are organized by volunteers from these communities as well as Montcalm Community College faculty, staff and students. Come and join the fun as a student, a coach or a volunteer.

The next Science Olympiad regional tournament is March 20, 2010, at MCC in Sidney, Mich. All teams must register with the state before registering for the regional tournament. Go to the Michigan Science Olympiad Web site at www.michiganso.org/ to learn about registration options. Then, use the forms below to register for the Region 15 Science Olympiad Tournament. Contact MCC’s Instructional Services Administrative Assistant Jane LaLonde at janel@montcalm.edu with questions about regional registration.

All teams that participate in the regional tournament are asked to provide at least one event supervisor. There are more than 40 events to choose from, so please recruit a knowledgeable person in your community or school to develop an event for the tournament. The regional tournament would not be possible without these volunteers.

FORMS

Pre-registration Form		Use this form to register with Montcalm Community College for the Region 15 Science Olympiad tournament to be held on March 20, 2010. This form must be completed and returned to MCC with your $50 registration fee by February 19, 2010. Please note the fee increases to $75 after February 19.

Event Supervisor Form		Use this form to identify the person you have recruited to develop, supervise, and judge an event for our regional tournament on March 20, 2010. Please complete this form and return it to MCC by February 19, 2010.

Final Registration Form		Bring this completed form with you on March 20, 2010. Names and grades of your student team members MUST be verified by your school principal's signature.

A Schedule of Events for both B and C Divisions can be found Here. Please keep in mind this is a tentative schedule at the present time.
Also attached is the list of Event Supervisors. Check this list to see which events are still available for the volunteer supervisor you are recruiting.
This list of Participating Schools is where you will find the Even/Odd code number assigned for your school to schedule events.
