Catering Policies
Function Ordering
We require that all orders be placed at least 10 business days
prior to your function. We will try to accommodate last minute orders
and requests, however, additional charges may apply. Due to the
cyclical nature of our business, there may be times when we are
not able to provide service regardless of the amount of advance
notice of the request. MCC Catering will continue to accept new
orders until we reach the limit of our service and production capacity.
We continuously monitor the number of functions accepted, to ensure
that we provide the quality of food and level of service that our
clients require and deserve.
MCC Catering staff will confirm each function order by forwarding
a copy of the appropriate Function Sheet to the person responsible
for details of the function.
To ensure a smooth planning process, please consider the following
aspects of your function:
- Date
- Start & End Times
- Location
- Number of Guests
- Table Arrangement
- Food Preference
- Method of Payment
Guest Guarantees
An estimate of the number of guests must be provided at the time
that your order is placed. A final guarantee of attendance is due,
in writing, 5 business days prior to each function. Changes in this
final guarantee are honored when possible, although may cause additional
charges. 3 days prior to the function, the attendance number may
not be reduced. If a guarantee number is not received by the due
date, the estimated guest count becomes the “final guarantee”
and is the basis for calculating your bill, regardless of low turnout
or last minute cancellations. Should the number of guests served
exceed the “final guarantee”, billing will be based
on the actual number of guests served.
Leftover Food
For the safety and well being of our clients and guests, food and
beverages are not permitted to leave the premises of a catered function.
All leftover foods remain the property of MCC Catering. Credit will
not be issued for leftover or unused items.
Cancellations
All cancellations should be communicated to MCC Catering staff
as soon as possible. Should you need to cancel a function, please
note:
- Functions cancelled less than 5 business days prior to function
dates are subject to cancellation charges.
- All functions cancelled less than 3 business days prior to the
function date will be charged up to 100% of the estimated bill.
Montcalm Community College reserves the right to cancel any function
in the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather. If MCC
cancels a function a refund of any deposited money will be issued
or an alternate date will be arranged.
Payment Policies
Our rates are based on normal business hours: Monday thru Friday,
8am until 5pm. Additional charges may apply for functions scheduled
during times other than normal business hours.
MCC internal functions are not subject to state sales tax. Internal
organizations must supply an account number to be billed at the
time of placing their order. MCC Catering will confirm all functions
by forwarding a copy of the appropriate Function Sheet to the person
responsible for details of the function.
External functions will be billed state sales tax, when applicable.

of the function. If your organization is tax exempt, your tax I.D.
number must be supplied at the time the order is placed. External
organizations may be required to pay a 50% deposit toward the estimated
cost of services, 2 weeks prior to the scheduled function. Final
payment is due at the end of your function, unless other arrangements
have been approved by MCC Catering staff.
Service Charge
A 15% service charge will be added to the final cost of each external
function. Some functions may have service needs, which will not
be covered by the 15% service charge. In these cases, staffing and
set-up will be billed on an hourly basis.
Miscellaneous
China Service: All pricing includes quality disposable
service ware. China service is available upon request, with an additional
rental charge.
Linen: Linen service is supplied for service and guest
tables for all orders over $100.00.
If linen is required on orders under $100.00, a separate line item will be added to the order to cover the cost of the requested linen.
If additional linens or cloth napkins are required, an additional
charge will be made.
For beverage only orders, linen is provided for only service tables.
Due to licensing restrictions and liability considerations, MCC
Catering cannot provide goods, services or equipment for functions
that involve the products or services of an outside caterer or organization.
All pricing is subject to change without notice. MCC will guarantee
quoted pricing for 30 days.
