career decisions. You will face these decisions when going to school
or work, when searching for a job, or when making a career change.
You will greatly improve your chances at making successful decisions
if you approach them in a systematic way, using planned decision-making
processes.
To assist you with your career planning process, the following
career interest tests and personality type indicators are available
in Counseling and Career Services at Montcalm Community College:

CareerCruising
Is a complete career guidance systems that will assist
you in finding careers that match your interests, exploring hundred
of careers, searching for schools and financial aid, and building
your career portfolio. Access CareerCruising at www.careercruising.com
and enter the following User Name and Password (as written):

Discover
A web-based career planning program, that will assist you in learning
more about yourself and find occupations that may be right for you,
The Discover program includes:
- an inventory to help you know where you are now in your career
planning
- inventories to measure your interests, abilities, experiences,
and values
- ways to develop a list of occupations you should explore
- ways to identify majors related to these occupations
- extensive information about over 500 occupations
- searches to identify schools, from a file of more than 7,000
- financial aid information and scholarship searches
- information about how to get a job

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
(MBTI)
(MBTI) is a computer-based program that will identify your personality
type and assist you in:
- identifying your potential strengths and weaknesses
- matching your personality type to careers
Strong Interest Inventory
(SII)
(SII) is a computer-based or paper-and-pencil program that will
help you make academic or career decisions. The SII measures interests,
not aptitude or intelligence, and compares your interests with the
interests of people employed in a wide variety of occupations.

Library contains career guides, company profiles, career advice
articles, industry and occupational profiles and much more. NOTE:
MCC STUDENT ID AND PIN NUMBER are required to access the Vault Online
