STEPS TO REGISTER
Registration for Credit Classes

(New students must complete the application process before continuing)

1. Seek academic advisement if needed.   Advisement is available in the Counseling and Career Services Office. 

2. Choose and complete one method of registration.

3. Complete the registration form.

4. Pay tuition and fees.

5. Pick up deferment papers (if applicable) in the Financial Aid Office.

6. Buy books in the MCC Bookstore or at the MCC Bookstore Online.

BEFORE REGISTRATION
Prerequisites and testing requirements must be met. Exceptions require written departmental approval. Outstanding financial obligations to MCC must be resolved.

COREQUISITES & PREREQUISITES
A prerequisite is a requirement that must be successfully completed prior to enrollment in another course. A corequisite is a requirement that must be completed at the same time as another course. Prerequisites and corequisites are indicated in brackets following course titles. It is the student's responsibility to ensure all co- or pre-requisites are completed prior to registration.  All exceptions require written departmental approval.

REPEATING OR AUDITING A COURSE
Audit status must be declared at registration and cannot be used for determining financial aid or veterans benefits eligibility.

DROP/ADD
Students may change their schedules in person only on any scheduled registration day.   After classes begin drop/add is approximately 8-10 days into the semester.  The deadline and hours are noted above for each semester or session. Drop/add forms are available in the Enrollment Services Office.  Contact Enrollment Services for drop/add of classes which do not follow the regular semester schedule (refer to schedule for dates).   Students who add a class after its first meeting should contact the instructor for assignments in order to be prepared for the next class.

ACCESS & PRIVACY OF STUDENT RECORDS
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 provides for a student™s right to privacy of information which MCC has in its possession concerning the student and provides a reasonable guideline for release or disclosure of such information as is required by federal and state law and as is necessary for the effective functioning of the college.  MCC accords all the rights under the law to students who are 18 years old or older.   No one outside the institution shall have access to, nor will the institution disclose, any information from a student™s education records, with the exception of directory information, without the written consent of the student. Under the law, MCC may, at its discretion, provide the following directory information: student™s name, address, e-mail address, date of birth, program of study, dates of attendance, degrees received, awards received, previous educational institutions attended, and participation in officially recognized activities and clubs. Students may request, in writing each semester, that MCC withhold all information pertaining to them. Students who want any other information about their education records, such as a transcript, released to a third party must submit a written authorization to the Enrollment Services Office.
