PERSONAL:
Dr. Brouwer taught high school English for twenty-one years, during
which time he coached a state championship debate team and had numerous
state tournament qualifiers in debate and forensics. He has written
a newspaper film review column and has published numerous articles
on various topics including film, television, culture and education.
Dr. Brouwer's interests include issues in film theory, interpersonal
communication, ethnicity in literature and cultural studies, and
image creation and manipulation. His personal interests include
traveling with his wife, following American League baseball and
driving his Miata.
Dr. Brouwer was the 2000 recipient of MCC's Leslie K. Morford Outstanding
Faculty Award.
