PERSONAL:
In her free time, Heather enjoys getting involved in a good story, whether it is TV, movies, or books. She is a particularly avid fan of science fiction and fantasy. Her favorite authors are Anne McCaffery, J.R. Tolkien, and Janet Evanovich. Her favorite movies are Lord of the Rings (the trilogy), and Goonies (just one movie). She also enjoys cooking, baking, biking, and being crafty. Currently she's experimenting with digital photography and knitting (not at the same time). Heather also tries to squeeze in assorted volunteer activities with long-term commitments to the MCC Science Club (http://www.montcalm.edu/mc2sc/), Science Olympiad and Emergency Animal Rescue Services. She also enjoys directing the MCC Science Camp for 3rd-8th graders the last week of July every summer. Heather bought her first house in June of 2006 and is currently very busy with yardwork and remodeling.
Heather went to Morley Stanwood High School and grew up just south of Big Rapids, Michigan in Rogers Heights. Her dad works for the gas company (MichCon) and her mom is a retired school librarian. She has one younger sister who is a social worker. Heather currently lives west of Stanton with her pets Cora, Cody, and Ellie. Cora was rescued from the Humane Society in 1999 and has been spoiled rotten ever since. Her nickname is Queenie B because of her massive attitude. Cody was rescued at 4 weeks old (in 2001) from a litter abandoned at a garbage dump. He is a Lab/Shepard mix. He loves to play ball (or really just to play) but it has to be THE ball he picks - Can dogs have OCD? Ellie is the newest addition to the family. She was abandoned and in need of a home at the tender age of 5 months. She appears to be a pure black lab and joined our household in July 2006. Ellie is full of energy and a desire to be a lap dog!
HEATHER'S FAVORITE QUOTES:
"Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday... See - There is no someday."
"Tell me again what we are fighting for, Sam. We are fighting
for the hope that there is still something good in this world, Mr.
Frodo."
"In Germany they first came for the Communists and I didn't
speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for
the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade
unionist. Then they came for the Catholics and I didn't speak up
because I was Protestant. Then they came for me - and by that time
no one was left to speak up."
