MCC presents fall Lifelong Learners sessions

“Getting Started in Family Search” is the second of four presentations in Montcalm Community College’s Lifelong Learners fall 2018 series. Presenter Sue Nelson will cover the basics of familysearch.org and will show participants how to sign up for a free account, enter vital statistics correctly, attach sources, search for records, merge duplicates and attach photos and memories. The presentation is Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to noon in room G129 in the Stanley and Blanche Ash Technology and Learning Center (Ash TLC) on MCC’s Greenville campus.

Other presentations include:

  • Oct. 5: “Natives in a Digital World: Technology These Days!” presented by Kevin Wagenmaker from 10 to 11 a.m. and “Confessions of a Backyard Beekeeper,” presented by Elizabeth Pitzer, retired high school home economics and biology teacher, from 11 a.m. to noon in room G129 in the Ash TLC on MCC’s Greenville campus.
  • Oct. 19: “Old Museums, New Eyes and Issues,” presented by Dr. Michael Stafford, archaeologist and Cranbrook Institute of Science director, from 10 a.m. to noon in room G129 in the Ash TLC on MCC’s Greenville campus. The annual membership lunch and meeting will be held immediately after this presentation.

Membership is open to those 18 years of age and older regardless of their formal education. The annual membership fee is $8. Members attend sessions for free. Non-members pay $2 per session.
