Glenkerry Golf Course in Greenville will be home to Montcalm Community College’s golf team.  

MCC Athletic Director Hunter Redman said the course was selected because its features and location fit well within the college’s golf program. 

“We mostly decided to go with Glenkerry due to the length of the course, the proximity to the college, and the experience we could offer to visiting teams,” Redman said. 

Glenkerry  Owner Ryan Lothian said his team looks forward to the partnership with MCC. 

“We partner with businesses, charities and other groups in our community to create long term win-win relationships,” he said. We are excited to be selected to host the MCC Men’s Golf Team and see our hosting as a great win-win for Glenkerry and MCC.” 

Lothian said Glenkerry is a links-inspired golf course. 

“The course is one that golfers can get a great score on if they play smart or they can post a big number if they are not careful. The golfers will need to be thinking as they play around the course to do well,” he said. 

“The playing conditions of the course are good and the green speed is quick,” Lothian said. “This should serve the team well as they practice and play away matches. Plus, our location is super convenient to MCC.” 

Redman said the college is actively recruiting golfers and hopes to begin play in fall 2023. 

Lothian said he and his team are honored to be chosen to work with MCC and look forward to meeting the players and starting the first season.
