March 2023 Noncredit Classes at MCC

 

Learn gardening, poetry, writing, MIG welding, painting, Chakras and ballroom dancing during Montcalm Community College’s March noncredit courses.

“Seed Starting Using Soil Blocking & Winter Sowing” teaches two easy ways to start seeds at home for springtime planting. The course is on March 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $39. 

“Creative Writing: Poetry Seminar” is a course where writers will sharpen their skills in verse, both free and structured. The class is March 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on MCC’s Sidney campus. The cost is $25. 

“Write Your Life Story” gives attendees the chance to create an inspirational autobiography. The online class is on March 4 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $25. 

“Using Amazon’s Kindle Direct to Self-Publish Your Book” offers a detailed tutorial that will teach you step-by-step how to publish your own book. The online class is March 4 from 12 to 1 p.m. The cost is $25. 

“Explore the World As a Travel Writer” is for people who love to travel and write. The online class is on March 4 from 2 to 3 p.m. The cost is $25. 

“MIG Weld at Home” teaches the proper setup and use of MIG (GMAW) and flux-core arc welding (FCAW) equipment. The class is March 6 from 12 to 4 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $49. 

“Adventure Art” is for younger students and will focus on art activities to foster a new look at the world around them. The class meets Mondays, starting March 6 through March 20, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $30 

“Beginning Watercolors” teaches techniques in watercolor and how to gain control of it to create beautiful art. The class meets on Mondays, starting on March 6 through March 20, from 6 to 9 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $44. 

“Earn Extra Money Mystery Shopping” teaches how to sign up with many legitimate mystery shopping companies without fees and avoid pitfalls and scams. The online class is March 8 from 5 to 6 p.m. The cost is $25. 

“How to Start Any Home Business + 250 Home Business Ideas!” is probably the most comprehensive business startup workshop you will ever attend. The online class is March 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $35. 

“Monetize Websites, Blogs and Social Media” teaches how to earn a passive monthly income from selling other people’s products by placing a merchant-provided advertisement link on your site. The online class is March 9 from 6 to 7 p.m. The cost is $25. 

“Make Money Pet Sitting After School or Work” explores how to make extra money after school or work watching dogs or other pets. The online class is March 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. The cost is $35. 

“Crystal Healing” teaches how crystals harness the life-giving elements of the Earth and universe through an alternative medicine technique for healing. The class is March 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $49. 

“Save Money with Extreme Couponing” teaches how to save money every day with extreme couponing. The online class is March 11 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $25. 

“Music of Michigan, More Than Just Motown” explores the musicians, producers, composers and genres that made their mark on Michigan’s music industry. The class is March 21 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $20. 

“Chakras for Balancing & Healing” explains how Chakras help balance, align and heal and how Chakras affect people’s lives on a daily basis. The class is March 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $39. 

“Introduction to Ballroom Dance” will be an overview of the different styles of ballroom dance, including waltz, fox trot, rumba and nightclub two-step. The class is on Mondays, starting on March 27 through April 17, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $37.50 to $40. 

“When Rails Ruled Montcalm County” explores the railroads that crisscrossed Montcalm County and the forgotten towns that once lined the tracks. The class is March 28 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $20. 

“Gardening 101” helps you get your gardening started for the year. The class is March 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $39.
