MCC students advance to national BPA competition

 

Eight Montcalm Community College students earned high honors during the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference at Davenport University in Grand Rapids on Feb. 12. There were 89 students representing six colleges from around the state.

Connor Clark of Greenville earned first place in Basic Office Systems and Procedures; Kyleigh Mills of Greenville earned second place in Interview Skills; Celena Rosset of Edmore earned second place in Parliamentary Procedure Concepts and fourth place in Ethics and Professionalism; Morgan Mason of Belding earned first place in Integrated Office Applications, third place in Fundamental Desktop Publishing and third place in Graphic Design Promotion; Claire Scott of Greenville earned first place in Small Business Management Team; Noelle Kyes earned first place in Small Business Management Team; Lindsey Olger of Lakeview earned second place in Graphic Design and fifth place in Interview Skills; and Mary McQuarrie of Ionia submitted an entry to the BPA National Promotional Photography competition and will be moving on as a finalist.

MCC’s Computer Information Systems (CIS) Lab Coordinator Kristen Diehl and Business Instructor Bill Bishop, who serve as BPA Club advisors, accompanied the students to the competition. All eight students have been invited to compete in the national conference in May in Dallas, Texas.

BPA is the leading Career and Technical Student Organization for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields.
