MCC’s men’s cross country runners achieve personal bests in Wisconsin

Montcalm Community College’s cross country runners competed in the Gene Davis Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 7, in Appleton, Wis., against runners from Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The MCC men’s runners both ran their personal bests in their 8K race. Andrew Hardy ran a 28:23 and Jerald Brownell ran a 32:45.

The women completed their first 6K race of their college careers, led by Annette Fare with a time of 25:15 followed by Carley Lynch with 28:53. Georgia Jurden traveled with the team, but was unable to compete due to an injury.

“Our runners had a beautiful day to run – hard ground, cool weather and a beautiful setting,” said Head Coach Kevin Sweeney.

Their next meet is Saturday, Oct. 14, when they participate in the Charger Invitational in Plymouth, Ind. The meet starts at 12 noon.
