MCC offers noncredit classes in February

 Learn stained glass, knitting, welding, critical thinking, clay art, and how to write a business plan during Montcalm Community College’s February noncredit courses.

“Beginner Stained Glass - Heart” will what it takes to make a stained glass windo. The course is on Feb. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $65. 

“Experienced Knitting” will teach the purl stitch and how to read a simple pattern. The course is on Feb 3 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $25. 

“Let’s Spark Some Interest – Youth Winter Welding” will teach how to create amazing metal art. The course is on Feb. 5-6, Feb. 19-21, and March 4-7 from 3 to 5 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $325. 

“Critical Thinking” will explore the most effective ways to think with discernment and pursue an understanding of any issue at hand. The course is on Feb. 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $30. 

“How SBA Can Help Secure Funding For Your Business” will discuss SBA lending, contracting, and counseling programs that can help you access the capital your business needs. The course is on Feb. 7 from 1 to 2 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is free. 

“Art Make and Take: Bundle” will teach a variety of techniques with clay. The course is on Feb. 10 from 9 to 11 a.m., Feb. 24 from 9 to 11 a.m., and March 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost for the entire series is $45. 

“Art Make and Take: Clay Creatures” will explore the world of air-dry clay. The course is on Feb. 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $20. 

“Bold Builders: Bundle” combines creativity with STEAM-based learning concepts. The course is on Feb. 10 from 12 to 2 p.m., Feb. 24 from 12 to 2 p.m., and March 9 from 12 to 2 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost for the entire series is $45. 

“Bold Builders: LEGO Spike Essential” combines creativity with STEAM-based learning concepts. The course is on Feb. 10 from 12 to 2 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $20. 

“Melt Away Those Winter Blues – Adult Winter Welding” will teach the skills and techniques to create amazing metal projects. The course is on Feb. 12-13 from 3 to 5 p.m., Feb. 26-28 from 3 to 5 p.m., and March 11-14 from 3 to 5 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $375. 

“A Journey to Antarctica – Land of Mystery” will retrace the route of Ernest Shackleton’s voyage of the early 1900s, and the beauty of glaciers, whales, and penguins. The course is on Feb. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $30. 

“Writing a Business Plan” will cover how to launch or grow your business. The course is on Feb. 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is free. 

“Art Make and Take: Beads, Jewelry, Crafts & Beyond” will teach students how to make masterpieces out of clay. The course is on Feb. 24 from 9 to 11 a.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $20. 

“MCC Alumni & Friends Choir” welcomes everyone aged high school and older who has an interest in singing in a choral group. The course runs from Feb. 24 through April 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $15. 

“Bold Builders: Dreamhouse Builders” will use building blocks to create and build houses. The course is on Feb. 24 from 12 to 2 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $20. 

“Seed Starting Using Soil Blocking & Winter Sowing” will teach two easy and space-saving ways to start seeds at home for your springtime planting. The course is on Feb. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. on the Greenville campus. The cost is $39.
