Bowling teams finish fifth and sixth at MCCAA Invitational

 

The MCC bowling teams finished fifth and sixth in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Conference Invitational on Feb. 9. 

The women’s team finished sixth out of 10 teams at the meet. The highest scorer for both the men’s and women’s teams was Zoey Guernsey who finished in fourth place overall with a score of 1,394, with a high game of 223. 

The rest of the women finished as follows: Anna Humphrey 26th overall (1,147) with a high game of 165, Aubry Marlin 31st overall (983) with a high game of 166, Alyssa Unger 36th overall (898) with a high game of 138, and McKenna Nash 44th overall (709) with a high game of 102. 

The men finished sixth out of 10 teams at the meet and their scores are as follows: Ethan Hopkins 23rd overall (1,407) with high game of 202, Jake Cutler 26th overall (1,306) with high game of 239, Nick Pennock 29th overall (1,280) with high game of 187, Jerald Brownell 36th overall (1,172) with high game of 193, Drake Syrjala 42nd overall (1,092) with high game of 184, and Lucas Hirkaway 60th overall (571) with high game of 121. 

Up next for both teams is the Region XII meet in Lansing on Friday, Feb. 16, and their final match will be Feb. 23 at the MCCAA Baker Challenge in Mt. Pleasant.
