CLEP Testing


The CLEP exams are administered at more than 1,800 test centers in the United States and abroad; 2,900 colleges and universities will accept credit for successful scores. CLEP exams allow people who have acquired comprehensive subject knowledge through independent or prior study, on-the job training, or cultural pursuits to show that they have the understanding of college-level material. College Board AccountRegister your own College Board Account to access practice tests, study guides, and sample questions to help you prepare for your CLEP exams. Through your online College Board Account you can register for CLEP exams 24/7, make payments, update your account information, access test center and score recipient information and purchase study materials.

ConfidentialityYour test scores and the information you provide when taking the tests will only be given to The College Board and to Montcalm Community College. The information may be used for counseling, advisement and placement purposes only.

FeesIn addition to each CLEP exam fee, which is collected when you register online, MCC has a $20 administration fee payable the day of the test. This fee is waived if the test taker is a current MCC student. The fee is refundable if the test taker enrolls in an MCC course at some point.

PreparationScheduled exam day CLEP examinations are administered throughout the year at over 1,800 colleges and universities in the United States and abroad. After you register through your College Board Account, find a test center that’s convenient for you and contact the preferred test center to schedule your appointment to test.

PurchaseChoose and purchase exams online through your College Board Account. Registration for an exam can be done online 24/7 and you will be provided a payment receipt and a Ticket ID.
