MCC seeks an outstanding student speaker to address graduates and their families during the 2024 Commencement. All graduating students are invited to submit a two- to three-page (double-spaced) essay that will also serve as the identical text of the graduation speech. A committee will select three finalists who will be invited to present these orally through a virtual meeting. One of these three will be selected as the student speaker to represent the graduating class. Thoughts in the essay might include crucial life lessons learned while in college, the role MCC played in your personal and professional development, obstacles that were overcome to achieve this milestone, challenges you had to face along the way, people or events that were of a particular encouragement, the fulfillment of dreams, or the creation of new dreams, etc. Please submit your essay to Leslie Neal, Speech & Communication Instructor, by Monday, March 25, following these instructions:
