Writing Center Syllabus Statement

 

If you'd like to mention the Writing Center in your course syllabus, please copy/paste the following information available in either a list or solid paragraph format.

List Format

 

• The Writing Center, located at the north end of the MCC Library, provides FREE writing support for any MCC writing assignment at any stage of the process. Friendly, qualified consultants will help you generate ideas, shape your project, revise your work, document sources, and polish your writing. The Writing Center consultants work with students on a variety of writing projects, including essays, research papers, and lab reports.
• Be sure to take your assignment directions, notes, and work you’ve done up to the point of your consultation. If your writing is research-based, take relevant texts and sources as well.
• Be prepared to take an active role in your consultation. Let the writing consultant know
  what your concerns are and what you would like to focus on. Consultants may be available for drop-in assistance, but first priority goes to scheduled appointments.
