Local Corrections Officer Physical Agility Testing
Corrections officer candidates are required to demonstrate their physical fitness by successfully completing a physical fitness evaluation performed by a licensed physical fitness or medical professional, or a Sheriff or Sheriff's designee. Testing will take place on MCC's Sidney campus in the Activities building gymnasium.
EMPCO Testing
Sheriff's/Local Corrections Reading and Writing Exam
Empco conducts entry level examinations for Sheriff’s Offices through the Sheriffs’ Association Testing Program. Through this system, qualified candidates can sign up to take entry level written examinations to become Corrections Officers and Road Patrol Deputies. The system will then allow qualified candidates’ information and scores to be viewed by participating departments. The testing is administered in the Testing Center in the Library on the lower level of the Donald C. Burns Administration Building on the Sidney campus.
Test candidates must sign up for the EMPCO test a minimum of 24 hours prior to testing.
Test candidates must bring their driver’s license and know their social security number on the day of testing.
No late starts, once the test has started late candidates are not admitted into the testing center.
