Summer Camps

Science Camp

Wednesdays beginning June 3 through July 29

1 p.m. to 3 p.m. | Sidney Campus

Taught by David Pyle. The cost is $65. Grades 5-12

Science Camp is for anyone who loves science and wants to learn more. Topics will cover a broad range of areas such as biology, chemistry, agriculture, geology, astronomy, environmental science, astronomy, and more! Activities will vary depending on class size and age but will always involve science! Sessions will often take place outdoors, which may include the MCC Nature Trails.

Campers should bring their own water bottle and sun screen/bug spray as needed. This camp is designed for age 10 and up but younger campers (5 to 9) will be allowed with an older sibling/friend present OR an adult (who will have to submit to a background check).

BotBuilders 1

Monday, June 13 through Thursday, June 18

9 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Greenville Campus

Taught by Alex Colville. The cost is $140. Grades 5-8

Students will explore the fundamentals of robotics and engineering using Makeblock mBot kits which they will get to keep. Participants will design, build, and program interactive robots while learning core concepts such as sensors, motors, coding logic, and problem-solving.

This hands-on camp encourages creativity, teamwork, and real-world STEM skills as students turn ideas into working machines.

Industrial Robot Camp

Monday, June 22

9 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Greenville Campus

Taught by Cheyenne Beach. The cost is $25. Grades 7-12

Participants will be taught the basic concepts behind 6 axis industrial robots. They will learn how to jog and program the robot and create a few small programs to practice their skills.

Taught by Joe Carmon. The cost is $35. Grades 5-8

Get ready to spark your curiosity at CircuitBuilders Summer Camp, where students in grades 5–8 dive into the world of electronics by building real circuits from day one! Using components from the Elegoo Mega 2560 Starter Kit, campers will explore how electricity truly works—powering LEDs, controlling circuits, and experimenting with resistors, capacitors, switches, and sensors. Along the way, they’ll use real tools like breadboards and digital multimeters to measure, test, and troubleshoot their creations while learning how voltage, current, and resistance shape the devices we use every day.

This high-energy, hands-on experience turns curiosity into confidence as students design, build, and bring their ideas to life!

Industrial Technology for Girls Camp

Participants will tour MCC's skills trades labs and then create/ solve 1-2 STEM related projects in those fields.

3D Printing & CAD Camp

Monday, July 27, through Tuesday, July 28

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. | Greenville Campus

Taught by David Nelson & Norm Denny. The cost is $120. Grades 4-5

Explore the world of Computer-Aided Design (CAD). This camp is designed to introduce young minds to the fascinating world of digital design and creativity. Introduction to popular CAD software tailored for young learners, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.

Students will learn the basics of Computer-Aided Design to understand how to create digital drawings and 3D models, from designing simple objects to more complex structures. Creativity knows no bounds! The Design and 3D Printing camp provides an understanding of how CAD is used in various industries, showcasing its real-world applications.

BotBuilders 2

Monday, July 27, through Thursday, July 30

9 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Greenville Campus

Taught by Joe Carmon. The cost is $35. Grades 5-8

Continue the fun of BotBuilders with BotBuilders 2. Students will begin where BotBuilders left off. Using reusable robotics kits students will build multiple robot types. Build a robotic arm to move objects, and a bulldozer to move objects. Students will program their robot to use sensors for fully autonomous robots.

This summer camp is an immersive experience designed to propel students’ interest in the work of STEM and take them to the next level in robotics.

CircuitBuilders 2

Monday, August 3, through Thursday, August 6

9 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Greenville Campus

Taught by Joe Carmon. The cost is $25. Grades 5-8

Get ready to level up your skills at CircuitBuilders 2, where students in grades 5–8 dive deeper into the world of electronics by exploring how digital systems think, respond, and interact! Using components from the Elegoo Mega 2560 Starter Kit, campers will build interactive circuits that use buttons, sensors, LEDs, and buzzers to create smart systems like games, alarms, and automated devices.

Along the way, they’ll learn how digital signals (on/off), logic (if/then), and real-world inputs come together to power modern technology. Through hands-on building and problem-solving, students will design, test, and refine their own digital creations—turning ideas into working systems.

It is strongly recommended that campers complete CircuitBuilders Summer Camp prior to enrolling in CircuitBuilders 2 to ensure they have a solid foundation in basic circuits and components.
