Students will enjoy an inspiring keynote, hands-on demonstrations, career-focused breakout sessions, workforce partner engagement, exposure to college and career pathways, and collaboration with students from across the region!
IM Exploring AI in Careers is an interactive career exploration experience designed for all seventh-grade students accross Ionia and Montcalm counties.
Through keynote presentations, hands-on demonstrations, and career-focused breakout sessions, students will explore how artificial intelligence is influencing industries ranging from healthcare and manufacturing to business, communications, public service, and skilled trades.
Hosted by Montcalm Community College and supported by educational, workforce, and community partners, the event is designed to spark curiosity, expand awareness of future opportunities, and help students connect their interests to educational and career pathways.
Aligned with the Michigan Development Model, students will explore emerging careers, learn about responsible and ethical AI use, and gain a better understanding of how education can help prepare them for a rapidly evolving workforce.

Engage with local employers and workforce trends to understand the impact of AI on careers and industries, including the opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities of ethical and responsible use.
Connect Interests to Future Pathways
Connect personal interests, strengths, and educational choices to future career pathways, including awareness of post-secondary (beyond high school) opportunities that support those goals.
Engage in a Large-Scale Conference-Style Experience
Engage in a large-scale conference-style experience that broadens perspectives and builds interpersonal connections and access to regional opportunities across Ionia and Montcalm counties.
