Montcalm Community College presented its 2025 Leadership Award to Dean of Health & Human Services Tracy Zamarron, of Greenville, during the college’s Dec. 19 holiday celebration at Flo’s Ristorante in Greenville.
Zamarron joined MCC in 2011 as a part-time nursing instructor. In August 2018, she became a full-time instructor and in May 2023 she assumed the role of Interim Dean of Health & Human Services. Since July 2023, she has served as the college’s Dean of Health & Human Services, leading the team of faculty and staff for MCC’s health programs.
MCC President Dr. Bradley J. Barrick recognized Zamarron for her work.
“Tracy has led our Health and Human Services team with dedication and compassion, guiding the college’s health programs through a period of growth and change,” Dr. Barrick said. “Her leadership reflects a deep commitment to student success, academic excellence, and collaboration.
“Most recently, she has played pivotal roles in the reaccreditation of our nursing program and in launching our new Exercise Science program,” he said.
Dr. Barrick noted that Zamarron’s progression from part-time instructor to dean speaks to both her expertise and her steady leadership.
“Tracy understands our programs from the ground up,” he said. “She leads with both experience and vision, ensuring our students are well prepared to serve their communities.”
Dr. Barrick congratulated Zamarron on receiving the award, noting that her impact will be felt for years to come.
“Tracy’s leadership has strengthened our Health and Human Services division and advanced the mission of Montcalm Community College,” he said. “We are grateful for her dedication, her integrity and her unwavering commitment to our students, our faculty and the communities we serve.”
MCC’s Leadership Award was established in 2002. It recognizes a leader based on noteworthy work with, or on behalf of, MCC; leadership and professional achievement; and service to MCC. The recipient is nominated and chosen by his or her colleagues.
