The Montcalm Community College men's and women’s bowling teams settled into the middle of the pack on Saturday, each finishing third in a field of five teams at the Kellogg Community College Invitational.
The Centurions’ men’s team placed third with a team total of 3,919. Jackson College placed first with a team total of 4,280. The Centurions did their best to keep pace with Jackson and the hosting Bruins through the individual games but fell behind further during the baker blocks.
Individually, the Centurions were led by sophomore Bradon Krohn (Fruitport, Mich.), who finished with a three-game series of 622 after bowling games of 225, 216 and 181. Krohn was one of two individuals to reach a series of 600, placing second overall to Hunter Pennington of Kellogg CC, who finished with a series of 628 (206, 223, 199). Sophomore Joey Gonzalez (Greenville, Mich.) placed second for the Centurions individually with a three-game series of 543, bookending the session with games of 200 and 220.

Sophomore Madyson Hartman (St. Louis, Mich.) led the Centurions with a three-game series of 495, showing tremendous consistency after bowling games of 168. 169 and 158. Hartman’s series was tied for fourth best among the 28 bowlers in attendance, tying with Emily Lemon of Kellogg. MCC freshman Amaya Farr (Greenville, Mich.) was second on the team with a series of 434 (128, 155, 151).
The Centurions will next host their annual Montcalm Community College Invitational at the Greenville Hot Spot at 11 a.m. Friday. Last season, the Centurions’ men’s team placed third at their invitational while the women’s team placed fourth.
