Learn about forming an LLC, weight loss hypnosis, welding and more during Montcalm Community College’s February and March noncredit courses.

If you have a passion for singing, consider joining the MCC Alumni & Friends Choir! The choir performs two concerts per year at Greenville High School, generally themed and designed to provide a great musical experience for the performers and the audience. The spring concert is 250 Years of American Music: Celebrating our Diverse Music History. The concert will be on Saturday, March 21, at 3 p.m. at the Greenville High School(GHS) Performing Arts Center. Rehearsals will take place each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the Ash TLC Building on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost to join is $15. 

In Stick Welding at Home, students will learn the proper setup and usage of Stick (SMAW) equipment. They will also learn theory, electrode selection and perform welds in the flat and horizontal position using two common welding electrodes (6010 and 7018). Welding performance is held to the American Welding Society standards. The class will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 noon Feb. 20 at MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $100. 

Looking to take the next step with your small business? Our class on Forming Your LLC or DBA will cover the differences between a sole proprietorship, doing business as (DBA), and a limited liability company (LLC). Attendees will also learn about the paperwork required to form an LLC and how to maintain it. The class will be taught in-person by Marie Elliott, SBDC Senior Business Consultant, with a virtual option also available. The class will take place on Feb. 24 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. There is no cost for this course, but pre-registration is required. 

Stuck with your weight loss journey? In our Weight Loss Hypnosis: Transform Your Mind, Transform Your Body course, participants will learn to release weight by addressing the subconscious patterns that keep them stuck. Each of the four 90-minute sessions begins with gentle movements to awaken the body, followed by guided hypnosis to reprogram limiting beliefs and create lasting change. Participants will learn practical mind-body techniques to effortlessly release weight, maintain results and cultivate a healthier self-image. This course is ideal for adults ready to transform both mind and body and step into a new, empowered version of themselves in 2026. The class will take place on Feb. 25, March 11, March 25 and April 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on MCC’s Sidney campus. The cost is $160. 

You’re invited to an open music jam session! Montcalm Drum & Dance is a lightly-facilitated, open-format, drum circle/jam session. You are encouraged to bring instruments or drums, but there will be a few extra drums and percussion toys to share, as well. If you want to come and dance to the music, that is also welcome! All skill levels are welcome as we aim to create a welcoming, comfortable, family-friendly space for this substance-free event. The session will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on March 1 in rooms D303-305 in the Beatrice E. Doser Building on MCC’s Sidney campus. There is no advanced registration or cost associated with this session. 

Do you want to learn the basics of drawing and move beyond stick figures? Our Fundamentals of Drawing class will cover composition, sketching and refinement, perspective, light and shadow values and texture. Each lesson will begin with a short teaching portion, including take-home handouts, followed by hands-on practice. Required materials include 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B pencils (or a set of drawing pencils that include at least one H and one HB pencil), a gray kneaded eraser, a white Hi-Polymer eraser, pencil sharpener and a 24x18 sketch or drawing paper pad. This four-session class is each Thursday in March, starting March 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. The cost is $45. 

During our Financial Management and Cybersecurity class, participants will learn about the process of proper financial management, including bookkeeping, projections, financial statements and financing. These principals form the foundation for reaching your goals and making sound business decisions. In addition, implementing essential cybersecurity practices for your small business will help keep your finances safe. This class will take place on March 10 from 6 to 7 p.m. on MCC’s Greenville campus. There is no cost associated with this class, but advanced registration is required.
