Montcalm Community College President Dr. Bradley J. Barrick was recently appointed treasurer of the Michigan Community College Association’s (MCCA) Executive Committee.
Dr. Barrick began his tenure as the seventh president of Montcalm Community College on July 1, 2024. A servant leader at heart, he is committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and student success.
Since assuming the presidency, Dr. Barrick has led the development and implementation of the college’s new five-year strategic plan, which advances key priorities designed to strengthen MCC's impact and expand opportunities for students. Major initiatives include the opening of student housing in fall 2026, the continued growth of the college’s athletics programs, and steady enrollment increases each semester.
Under Dr. Barrick’s leadership, the college also recently secured $5.874 million in State of Michigan Capital Outlay funding to renovate and modernize the Les Morford Instructional Building, which will create a new student success center that will enhance services and support for current and future students.
“I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as treasurer of the Michigan Community College Association Executive Committee,” said Dr. Barrick. “Michigan’s community colleges play a vital role in expanding educational opportunities, strengthening our workforce and transforming lives.
“I look forward to working alongside my colleagues from across the state to help advance the association’s mission, ensure strong stewardship of its resources and advocate for the success of our students, institutions and communities. It is a privilege to represent Montcalm Community College in this leadership role and contribute to the continued success of community colleges throughout Michigan,” he added.

His leadership will help strengthen our association as we continue advancing opportunities for students and communities across Michigan.”
