Study Abroad


In today’s global society, students increasingly need international experience to round out their education. International travel exposes students to new cultures and ideas, enhancing international awareness and understanding while enriching curricula. Previous Study Abroad trips have included: India (2018), China (2015), Rome (2011), Florence and Pompeii (2011), London (2010) and Mexico (2009).

  • Day 1: Fly to London

  • Day 2: London Walking Tour with Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, Parliament and more. Optional Thames River Sightseeing Cruise.

  • Day 3: British Museum, Hyde Park and Borough Market.

  • Day 4: Free day. Optional day tour to Stonehenge and Bath.

  • Day 5: St Paul’s Cathedral, London Eye and Shakespeare’s Globe Theater.

  • Day 6: Tower of London, Tower Bridge and free time.

  • Day 7: Eurostar Bullet Train to Paris. Walking Tour of Paris with Notre Dame, Palais de Justice, Tuileries Gardens and more. Optional Seine River Sightseeing Cruise.

  • Day 8: Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysees, Sacre Coeur and Montmartre.

  • Day 9: Free Day. Optional day tour to Versailles Palace.

  • Day 10: Louvre Museum, Catacombs and Luxembourg Gardens.

  • Day 11: Free day. Optional day tour to Normandy.

  • Day 12: Fly Home.

The cost of the trip is $2,395 per person (based on double occupancy), which does not include the tuition cost for the three-credit course . MCC students must enroll in one of the following three-credit courses for the 2020 summer session:


  • BIOL 271 – Study Abroad in Science
  • BUSN 271 – Study Abroad in Business
  • HUMN 271 – Study Abroad
  • SOCI 271 – Study Abroad

The trip cost includes all international flights, nightly accommodations, EuroStar bullet train from London to Paris, shuttle service from MCC to Chicago airport, locally guided walking tours of London and Paris, all ground transportation, daily breakfasts and dinners (for currently enrolled MCC students only), some meals (where noted) for non-students, full-time travel director and all listed admissions and tours. Other expenses not included are some meals, excess baggage fees and all optional excursions.

RegistrationThe deadline to register is Jan. 31, 2020, and the cost of the trip must be paid in full. Percussive Tours accepts payment by check, cash, Venmo and credit cards. A four percent processing fee is added to all credit card transactions.  

ScholarshipsThe first 10 currently enrolled MCC students to register and pay for this trip are eligible to receive a $500 scholarship which is being underwritten by a grant from the MCC Foundation and the Ash Community College Enhancement Fund.

Financial AidStudents who wish to use financial aid to pay for the trip should contact MCC’s Financial Aid Office immediately to determine eligibility.

Informational sessions


Three sessions will be conducted to provide an overview of the trip and answer questions from participants, as follows:


  • Thursday, Nov. 14, from 12 to 1 p.m. in room D305 in the Beatrice E. Doser Building on MCC’s Sidney campus. Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 6-7 p.m. in room G129 in the Stanley and Blanche Ash Technology and Learning Center (Ash TLC) on MCC’s Greenville campus. Refreshments will be provided for all attendees.
  • Monday, Nov. 25, from 12 -1 p.m., in room D305 in the Beatrice E. Doser Building on MCC’s Sidney campus. Lunch will be provided for all attendees.
