In this program, students will prepare for a career in networking by building a foundation in IT with core skills that cover a broad spectrum of topics, including operating systems, networking, security, and device management. Additionally, students will explore the topics of scripting, data analytics, cloud computing, and project management. Students will be encouraged to take industry-recognized certification exams. Students interested in transferring to a four-year institution are encouraged to consult an MCC counselor or academic advisor.
Why This Degree
Students who earn an associate of applied science degree will be prepared for entry-level jobs in the information technology field. This degree provides the foundation for continued study at the bachelor’s degree level and can be a stepping stone to landing a career as a network and computer systems administrator, computer network architect, information security engineers, computer network specialists and more.
